Initial Contact

Prior to submitting an application, you will want to gain a first hand experience of Tamarack by attending an Open House, an Information Evening, or taking a tour of our school and talking with our Enrollment Coordinator, Sarah Stokes. Information on all these opportunities is available by contacting the office at 414-277-0009.

The formal admissions process at Tamarack begins when interested families submit an application along with a $50 application fee. (The fee is waived for Milwaukee Parental Choice Program participants.) Applications are accepted year-round. After your application is received, you will be notified of an interview with the teacher. For kindergarteners, the interview is done in a group format. For students in grades 1-8, a request for school records will be made. Upon receipt of school records, the teacher will call to set up an interview appointment. Your son or daughter may visit the classroom before or after the interview. Upon acceptance, the school Administrator will send a letter to your family.

Milwaukee Parental Choice Program

For the 2017-18 academic year, a family residing in the city of Milwaukee will be eligible for the program if, in the case of a family of four, its 2016 adjusted gross income is less than $72,900. If your family will be participating in Choice, your application needs to be received online during an Open Enrollment Period, usually the 1st through the 20th of each month, beginning in March for the following fall. Please call the school for more information. Following the online application, Choice students must submit income documentation (a copy of 2016 federal tax forms) and Milwaukee residency documentation (typically a utility bill) along with the Choice application confirmation, to the school office. Parents or guardians are required to come to the Tamarack office so that staff can review the documents with parents present to make sure all information is complete and accurate.

Applications for Pre-K classrooms must be for children who are 3 years old before June 1.

Applications for the Kindergartens must be for children who are 4 years old by June 1.
