Tamarack, one of the largest Waldorf schools in North America, was founded in 1996 as a member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).
Our Elementary School, located on Brady street in the heart of the East Side, accommodates students from pre-school to 8th grade.
Tamarack is a self-run, non-profit private school.
The Milwaukee Parental Choice Program enables the school to attract students from many socio-economic levels and many neighborhoods. Children come from City of Milwaukee neighborhoods, as well as the suburbs of Bayside, Fox Point, Germantown, Glendale, Greendale, Hales Corners, Shorewood, St. Francis, Port Washington, Racine, Wauwatosa, West Allis, West Milwaukee, and Whitefish Bay. Tamarack is also racially and culturally diverse.
