Our biggest fundraiser is our Annual Appeal, an annual giving campaign asking our community and friends to support the school with a financial gift. All donations are deeply appreciated, because they are critical to our ability to continue to offer a complete Waldorf curriculum to our families. Thanks to our donors, this unique and valuable educational experience remains available to our students and students in the future.
Tamarack offers a unique, quality Waldorf education, with a mission of making this specialized education affordable to all who want it. While all private schools must fundraise to bridge the gap between tuition and expenses, at Tamarack, it is a special challenge. We must also bridge a tuition gap, but unlike many other private schools, the majority of our families are low-income, and we do not have the extra support of a large institution behind us. But it is not big wallets upon which we depend, it is big hearts!
We strive for 100% participation from our school families in our Annual Appeal to demonstrate to outsiders, such as fundraising organizations and donors, that we are a school whose families are dedicated. We also seek to build relationships with those in the Milwaukee area or elsewhere who value innovations in education, healthy living, and the arts.
If you would like to support Tamarack and Waldorf education in Milwaukee while helping us meet the Annual Appeal goal, please donate now by clicking the Donate button below!
How Can You Help?
- Donate online by clicking the PayPal button on this page, or call the school directly for credit card donations at 414-277-0009.
- Setup a recurring monthly donation through PayPal. Recurring monthly donations help form a predictable source of income we can count on to fund Tamarack programs and further our mission. It’s the easiest way to give and ensure that Tamarack receives your ongoing support. Just click the “Make This Recurring” box next to the donation amount through PayPal.
- Double your impact by checking to see whether your employer will match your gift. Your company’s personnel office will know about matching gifts.
- Spread the word about our Annual Appeal to others who, like you, believe in excellent and affordable Waldorf education for children of all religious, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Contact us if you have any questions or if you’d like to help in other ways.

Tamarack Fundraising Events
We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. We find a way for our families and community to come together to give something more. Join us and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity.
Here, Jean Kacanek shares why she gave on Giving Tuesday with a #UNselfie.
December Winter Fair
This special event on the first Saturday in December enriches our school community and offers a wonderful introduction to those unfamiliar with Tamarack. The fair features Waldorf-friendly vendors, great food, entertainment, a secret gift shop just for children, games, crafts and more.
Walk for Waldorf and Flap Jack Fundraiser
Tamarack is hosting its 2nd annual 5K Walk for Waldorf fundraising event on Saturday, April 29, 2017. Following this event, community members can join us for a stack of delicious pancakes at the Flap Jack Fundraiser. A group of parents are working with Development Specialist Tasha Sorenson to spearhead this active, family friendly event.
Stay tuned for more details!
Tamarack students begin fundraising for their 8th grade and 12th grade class trips beginning in 5th grade. There are numerous fundraisers — from bake sales to tee-shirt sales, pizza lunches to market baskets — throughout the school year. Parents are encouraged to participate to the extent of their interest and ability. In the past, 8th grade classes have been able to visit Estes Park in Colorado, New Orleans, Chicago, San Francisco, Yosemite Park, Kentucky, the coast of North Carolina, and to go on a Civil Rights Tour of the South.
